Epomaker TH108 Pro Keyboard Unboxing

The Epomaker TH108 Pro is a full-size, 100% layout wireless keyboard that genuinely packs a lot in. Between the TFT smart display, the media knob, and a massive 10,000mAh battery, it’s built for heavy use. Throw in tri-mode connectivity, dynamic south-facing RGB, and a hot-swappable PCB, and you’ve got a pretty compelling spec sheet. I’ve been using it daily for a few weeks now, and here is my takeaway.

Unboxing

Inside the box, you’re greeted by the EPOMAKER TH108 PRO keyboard itself, protected by a handy plastic dust cover that you can definitely reuse to keep your desk setup clean. Digging a bit deeper, you’ll find the standard user manual and warranty card, alongside a braided USB-C cable for charging and wired use. EPOMAKER also threw in a dual-purpose keycap and switch puller, plus two extra Creamy Jade switches to round out the unboxing.

Design and build Quality

I’m testing the black version from MECHLANDS, and the keycap colorway gives it a really distinct look. It uses dark grey for the modifiers and outer keys, contrasted nicely by light grey for the main alphanumeric layout. They’ve also added some fun pops of color: yellow for the Enter keys, plus a mix of pink, blue, and purple for the Escape and arrow keys. If that isn’t your vibe, they do offer it in white/blue and pink colorways too. As for the board’s layout, just above the Esc key on the top left, there are LED indicators for your connection modes and Caps Lock. Over on the top right, you’ll find the TFT display and an illuminated logo, with the rotary knob tucked just behind it on the right edge.

Finally, taking a look at the top edge of the board, the port and switch layout is very straightforward. You’ve got a dedicated toggle to switch between Mac and Windows modes, the USB-C port, and a separate toggle to easily cycle through your Bluetooth, wired, and 2.4GHz wireless connections.

Both sides of the keyboard feature really sleek RGB light strips that look incredible, especially when it’s sitting on a gaming desk. You can easily customize the lighting effects and colors to match the rest of your setup. Flipping it over, the back has height-adjustable kickstands, and there’s a neat little storage slot for the 2.4GHz receiver tucked away underneath. As for the build quality, the case is made of thick ABS plastic. While the plastic can feel slightly budget compared to a heavy metal board, it still manages to pull off a premium, full-on gaming vibe. Thankfully, there are no compromises on the top end since it uses high-quality PBT keycaps. Overall, for a $100 price tag, the design and build quality are completely solid, especially when you factor in that massive 10,000mAh battery holding it all together.

TFT Display and Knob

On the right side of the keyboard, the TH108 Pro features an illuminated logo LED right next to a small TFT display. You can easily cycle through the RGB effects for that logo just by hitting the Fn and End keys. Right on the edge, there’s a handy rotary knob that manages your volume, but it also doubles as your screen controller. If you hold Fn and press the knob down for a few seconds, you can use it to navigate the display menu. It’s honestly one of the best implementations I’ve seen because you can look directly at the screen to see exactly what you’re changing—whether that’s tweaking your RGB effects and colors, swapping out a custom GIF, or adjusting the volume. Everything works perfectly smoothly, and since the board has that massive battery we talked about, you really don’t have to stress about the screen draining your power.

Switch and Keycaps – Typing Experience

the TH108 Pro gives you a ton of room to personalize the sound and feel of every single keystroke. My unit is rocking the Epomaker Creamy Jade switches, and since they come factory-lubed right out of the box, they feel incredibly smooth and deliver a really satisfying, thocky sound. If you need a quieter setup for your space, they also offer it with their tranquil Sea Salt Silent switches. The whole board is fully hot-swappable and supports standard 5-pin mechanical switches, so you can easily pull these out and drop in whatever you want to experiment with different acoustics and typing feels. Paired with those PBT keycaps.

Digging a bit deeper into why it sounds so good, Epomaker really packed the inside of the TH108 Pro with a ton of acoustic dampening materials. They went with a pretty extensive, market-tested formula here, layering in sandwich foam, an IXPE switch pad, sound-enhancing PET, EPDM switch socket foam, and a bottom silicone pad. All of these internal layers work together perfectly to absorb resonance and cushion the shock every time you bottom out a key. This setup is exactly what gives the keyboard that deeply satisfying, creamy sound profile while keeping the keystrokes feeling exceptionally comfortable. It genuinely treats your ears and fingers to a great tactile and auditory experience, making it a joy to use for long hours, whether you are grinding out professional projects or jumping into an intense gaming session.

RGB Color & Effects

Let’s talk about the RGB on this board, because it really makes the TH108 Pro a visually stunning centerpiece for your high-performance rig. If you are playing in a dimly lit room, the dynamic backlight makes it incredibly easy to seamlessly locate your macro bindings and dedicated keys, which really helps minimize misclicks with intuitive visual cues that light up as you type. You have total freedom to personalize your setup to reflect your individual style and mood, with fully adjustable colors, effects, brightness, and speed. Controlling all of this is super straightforward directly from the keyboard itself without even needing the software. You just use the Fn and Insert keys to cycle through the main lighting effects, while Fn and Delete will change up the colors. Then, for the extra accents, hitting Fn and Home controls those amazing side lights we talked about earlier, and Fn and End handles the logo LED on the top right.

Connectivity and Battery Performance

ou get tri-mode connectivity, meaning you can easily switch between Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and a standard wired connection. I have mostly been using the Bluetooth mode, which runs at a 125Hz polling rate, and honestly, it works perfectly for my general workflow. Whether I am writing articles or doing editing work, I haven’t felt any lag at all, and it connects instantly the second you turn it on—you are just ready to go. If you are doing competitive gaming, the 2.4GHz wireless and the USB wired modes bump that up to a much more responsive 1000Hz polling rate, but for daily driving, the Bluetooth is absolutely fine.

Powering all of this is a massive 10,000mAh battery. Epomaker claims you can get around 42 hours of battery backup with the RGB backlight and the screen turned on, and up to a crazy 200 hours if you turn the RGB and screen off. In my own testing, running full RGB on both the backlight and the side panels with the screen on, I got around 30 hours of actual use. That wasn’t done in a single stress test, but spread out over about two weeks, using the board for two or three hours a day. Honestly, that is a fantastic result. So, when it comes to battery life and connectivity, this is easily one of the best gaming keyboards you can get at this price point, especially if you don’t mind compromising just a little bit on that plastic case build quality we talked about earlier.

Final Thought

Ultimately, the Epomaker TH108 Pro punches well above its $100 price tag at MECHLANDS, delivering a comprehensive feature set that easily outshines many competitors in this bracket. While the ABS plastic case might lack the heavy, ultra-premium weight of a full aluminum board, that really is the only minor compromise here. When you factor in the incredibly satisfying, factory-lubed acoustic experience, the genuinely useful TFT smart display and knob combination, and a massive 10,000mAh battery that comfortably handles weeks of heavy use, it is an absolute steal. Whether you are looking for a vibrant, customizable centerpiece for your high-performance gaming rig or a comfortable, thocky daily driver for long hours of writing and editing, the TH108 Pro is an exceptionally versatile and easy recommendation to make.
