EPOMAKER X AULA F108 Pro Full-Size Gaming Keyboard Review

The EPOMAKER x AULA F108 Pro enters a crowded market but immediately distinguishes itself with a bold promise: a full-size, 108-key layout packed with premium features like a custom screen, control knob, triple connectivity, and a massive 8000mAh battery for just $89. After a full month of intensive daily testing for both gaming and productivity, I can confirm it largely delivers on that promise. Let’s dive deep into this review to see if the F108 Pro is the new budget champion for your setup.

Unboxing and First Impressions

Inside the box, EPOMAKER and AULA provide a complete and quality experience:

  • The F108 Pro Keyboard with a protective cover
  • A high-quality, braided USB-C cable
  • A sturdy keycap and switch puller
  • Four extra LEOBOG Reaper switches
  • A 2.4GHz wireless dongle
  • User Manual and Quick Operation Guide

The inclusion of a premium braided cable and a robust keycap puller are small touches that immediately signal quality and a user-focused design.

Design and Build

The model I tested is the “Black and White Blue,” which has a striking, modern aesthetic perfect for a gaming setup. Two other colorways, Gradient Black and Gradient Black Pink, offer options for more minimalist desks.

For a full-size keyboard, the F108 Pro is thoughtfully designed. The top left houses three essential indicator LEDs (Num Lock, Caps Lock, Win Lock). The front edge cleverly integrates:

  • A simple On/Off toggle switc
  • A magnetic storage slot for the 2.4GHz dongle
  • The USB-C port for charging and wired mode

Unlike more compact keyboards like the EPOMAKER TH80 or Ajazz AK820 Pro, there isn’t a dedicated physical switch for changing modes (Bluetooth/2.4GHz/Wired). Instead, mode switching is handled intelligently through the knob and screen interface, which keeps the keyboard’s exterior clean. The build is made of a thick, high-quality ABS plastic that feels sturdy and weighs a substantial 1.2 kg, eliminating any cheap-feeling flex or wobble during use.

Custom Screen and Volume Knob

Positioned above the numpad, the 1.14-inch TFT screen is the keyboard’s centerpiece. By default, it displays vital stats: date/time, battery percentage, connection mode, and OS (Win/Mac).

However, its true power is unlocked when used with the control knob. By pressing the knob’s center button, you can cycle through menus to adjust:

  • Connectivity Modes (BT1, BT2, BT3, 2.4G, Wired)
  • RGB Effects and Colors
  • Animation Speed and Brightness
  • System and Language Settings

This is far more intuitive than memorizing complex FN+key shortcuts.

A Minor Quirk: The one frustrating design choice involves the volume control. To adjust system volume, you can’t just turn the knob. You must first press the knob to cycle to the volume menu and then turn it. It’s a small but noticeable friction point for what is typically a seamless action.

RGB Sidelight

The F108 Pro is a visual spectacle. It features vibrant, per-key RGB backlighting that shines brightly and uniformly through the switches. Additionally, it boasts RGB light strips along the bottom left and right edges and a thin lightbar under the AULA branding.

  • Main Backlight: Control effects, speed, brightness, and color using the knob or FN key combinations.
  • Side Lights & Lightbar: These are controlled separately with their own FN key combos (FN+Right Shift for effects, FN+Right CTRL for speed, etc.), allowing for layered lighting schemes.

The included software (downloadable from the AULA or MECHLANDS website) unlocks even deeper customization, letting you create macros, remap keys, and fine-tune every lighting zone.

Keycaps and Switches

The F108 Pro comes standard with hot-swappable 3/5-pin sockets, allowing for easy customization. The pre-installed LEOBOG Reaper linear switches are fantastic out of the box. They are pre-lubed, delivering a smooth, buttery keystroke with no scratchiness.

The sound profile is the most impressive aspect. Thanks to a five-layer sound-dampening system (PO sandwich foam, switch pad, PET pad, bottom foam, and silicone base), the keyboard produces a deep, muted, and satisfying “thock.” There is no case ping or hollowness, making each keystroke a quiet and pleasant ASMR-like experience suitable for both office work and late-night gaming. The Cherry-profile keycaps and two-stage adjustable kickstand also contribute to excellent ergonomics, reducing finger fatigue during long sessions.

Connectivity

The F108 Pro offers true tri-mode connectivity.

Bluetooth 5.0: During my initial setup, I struggled to get my PC to recognize the keyboard in Bluetooth mode. After a few attempts toggling between the three Bluetooth profiles, it finally connected. Since then, it has connected instantly every time. While the initial pairing was bumpy, its performance has been solid since.

Wired (USB-C): The fastest, most reliable connection for competitive gaming.

2.4GHz Wireless: This was my primary mode during testing. It delivers a flawless, lag-free experience with a stable 1000Hz polling rate. I experienced zero dropouts or latency issues during fast-paced gaming.

Battery Life

This is where the F108 Pro utterly dominates its competition. The massive 8000mAh battery is not just a number on a spec sheet.

I used the keyboard for one full month with moderate to heavy daily use. The per-key RGB, side lights, and screen animations were active the entire time. After 30 days of use without once plugging it in, the battery was still at 48%. This is an outstanding performance that far exceeds the official 76-hour claim and means you can realistically go over a month or more between charges.

Conclusion: Is the AULA F108 Pro Worth It?

Absolutely. For under $89, the EPOMAKER x AULA F108 Pro isn’t just a good option; it’s arguably one of the best value propositions on the market today. You get a feature set, build quality, and typing experience that rivals keyboards costing twice as much.

This keyboard is perfect for:

  • Gamers who want a full-size layout with fast wireless performance and deep customization.
  • Productivity users and professionals who want a premium typing feel and a battery they can forget about.
  • Anyone looking for their first mechanical keyboard who wants a high-end experience without the high-end price tag.

Despite the minor inconvenience of the volume knob and a one-time Bluetooth hiccup, the F108 Pro’s overwhelming strengths in battery life, acoustics, and features make it an easy and enthusiastic recommendation.
